I was DEVASTATED by last week’s NCIS: Los Angeles last week. Way too soon for Deeks/Kensi to sleep together and pretty OOC, especially for Kensi. But, I have to say, this week’s episode left me feeling better about it. Still not happy, but better. At least they made it clear that it WAS indeed too soon, which was my point in the first place. They still have work to do and should move slowly. Which is - again - what I thought at the end of last week. If it’d been all instant happiness, then I would likely have been done.
rookie blue thoughts:
+ Not as good as I was expecting.
+ Thank god there was barely any Chloe.
+ Also, not surprised she wasn’t in it as soon as things got heavy. Her manner wouldn’t have meshed with the tone of the episode. Writers didn’t want to tackle that problem.
+ Luke’s comment about needing him alive, so not sending Sam in? Best of the season.
+ Luke is so grumpy. Ever since he stopped wearing plaid he and Andy broke up.
+ Liked andy’s blue shirt.
+ Traci is suddenly grieving again. pft.
+ Enuka’s acting has improved. A little.
+ Charlotte was awesome as always.
+ Why on cop shows are the victims families always like ‘waa you do not understand!’ to the one character who inevitably does and has first-hand experience? Cliché.
+ Poor oliver. But I hated what the show did to my imagination of Zoe, when they introduced her. she was so horrible that it’s hard to feel too sad for Oliver because he has to be better off without her.
+ Poor Dov.
+ End Sam/Andy scene was quite good. Both in denial.
+ But that scene bothered me once Marlo entered. Sam was too relaxed interacting with Marlo in front of Andy, with no one else around. Didn’t like the ‘goodnight, McNally.’ It was too casual.
+ Totally called it that Gail would confess the cheating when Nick was there.
+ Nick is a jerk. He was far too cold and didn’t even drive Gail home. He had been almost cheating emotionally and definitely being deceptive, leading Gail to believe he was in it for the long haul while actually having feelings for someone else. He thought they’d go away? It had been months, dude. From what I can tell anyway. Why begin again with Gail when you got back from undercover, if you were having doubts? To risk leaving her for the THIRD time?
+ Are we meant to feel sorry for Nick? Cause I feel very sorry for Gail. Not at all for Nick. If they didn’t want that, they certainly shouldn’t have lingered or ended on Gail’s sad face, for one thing.
+ I have said it once, twice, many times, but I’ll say it again. If Nick/Andy happens, I may be done with this show. It potentially ruins the character of Andy - perhaps the most important aspect of the show, and certainly one of the most important to me.
Last week, I didn’t do a post with my Rookie Blue thoughts. Mainly because i found the episode pretty dull and didn’t have much to say. Noelle Carbone episodes often leave me feeling like that. Really, my main thought from last week was that I once again found Chloe incredibly irritating. moving on to this week…
Rookie Blue thoughts:
+ Chloe is still irritating and dare i say it, kinda tarty.
+ Gail is awesome. love her deadpan reactions.
+ Andy barely interacts with Traci, Gail, Chris and Dov. just
+ If Nick/Andy happens, Rookie Blue becomes Rookie Eww. Tweet it peeps. #RookieEww
+ Andy freaking out about the anthrax was brilliant.
+ Andy’s ‘chill out’ quote and action was hilarious. Missy nailed it.
+ A character (Dov) jumping to conclusions about another and only realising they were mistaken when the other character is like WTF (Chloe). Lame plot device done a million times by a million shows.
+ The bipolar misdirect with the pills just happening to fall out after Chloe left. Let alone at all. Contrived.
+ Gail and Drug Guy. Contrived.
+ Andy eating an omelette. Contrived.
+ Marlo and Andy decontamination was unrealistic. For one thing, Marlo rubbed her clean robe thingy all over her contaminated uniform.
+ Missy looked young with her semi-wavy messy hair, post decontamination shower. Felt like I was watching Stick It.
+ Since when is Sam a touchy-feely, PDA kinda guy?
+ Some people who saw the episode early said Sam was way more concerned about Marlo, than Andy. I didn’t really get that so much. I felt he was concerned about Andy, just as much more, but obviously knows he can’t show that. He certainly couldn’t have called Andy’s phone when he knew Marlo was right there with her. He’s not the best with relationships (clearly), but come on, even Sammy isn’t that dumb.
+ Marlo and Andy interaction is interesting.
+ Marlo had a really important line, I think. The line where she said that she and Sam work because they keep an emotional distance. Wow. That’s great for a real relationship, huh? Clearly not.
+ Bipolar storyline. Semi-contrived. I question whether this was in the original plan for Marlo.
Not that they would ever admit it if it wasn’t.
+ Chris won’t be gone long.
+ LOVED Sam’s webisode. Shame they couldn’t work it in to the show, really. Pretty telling and insightful scene. Note how he says she’s emotional, when Marlo said she and Sam keep an emotional distance. Not so subtle juxtaposition there. Basically, I draw from this comparison that while Marlo/Sam may work this way for now, it’s not gonna be deep, real relationship like Andy/Sam, founded on true love.
rookie blue thoughts:
+ bit of a ‘nothing’ episode
+ music too loud in the paintball scene. hard to hear.
+ gail was awesome as always. urnie.
+ cannot stand chloe. still think she’s crazy and super annoying. i want to swat her like a fly.
+ the way frank introduced chloe, complete with side-hug, was way unprofessional. sloppy writing.
+ ew, chris. you’re not that tacky.
+ still don’t think there is any way traci would be a full-fledged detective all of a sudden.
+ also, sam showing up to work like that? not exactly professional look. i don’t care, but i imagine frank would.
+ annoying that andy is still often portrayed as not being very good at her job.
+ great scene with nick/gail at the end.
+ sad for andy at the end, but no way is all hope lost.
+ yes, the hug hurts considering sam/andy never hugged
and tassie didn’t even seem to notice. just glad they put it in the promo so it wasn’t a surprise.
+ sam didn’t go home with marlo. win. no way would he have let andy go home alone if that were her and they were together.
+ if they put nick/andy together, i still think i might be done with the show. won’t go on about that now. i have done a lot of writing on this subject on twc. will compile and share here at some point.
+ not about the episode, but i didn’t like some of tassie and noelle’s tweets from today. specifically, their attitude towards any slight criticism or query from fans.
+ still irrationally sad that missy got a tattoo.
+ Love Oliver’s less than subtle hints and sneaky manipulating.
+ Not sure what Andy’s smile means, as she was getting out of the truck.
+ Wish the truck scene had been longer, with more back and forth.
+ Chloe was mega annoying and crazy.
Carrie Mathison off her meds crazy.
+ The way they introduced Marlo was way better.
+ Loved Francesca. The show nails those humorous little cases, especially when Dov is involved.
Can’t she stay and Chloe go?
+ Andy wouldn’t wear that top.
It was more hooker than her hooker top. She should have worn her hooker boots. Pretty colour though.
+ Dov and Chloe having bathroom sex was really lame.
+ Not nearly as good as last week. Bit of a letdown, really.
+ Apart from the awesomeness of Oliver and Andy scenes.
+ Love the little nod/reference to Oliver’s talk.
+ I am still irrationally mad that Missy got a tattoo.
